HELP - New build, plaster is super splotchy!

So our pool was filled up about 5 weeks ago. The plaster job appeared to be really bad / splotchy, so we had it acid washed. NOW IT LOOKS WORSE!
Pool builder has left us. Thinking about sanding down the darker spots? I would hate to replaster but it is trending in that direction.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Typical mottling of a dark colored pool.

You can try polishing the plaster using diamond pads.

If you replaster best to do a light colored pool next time if this bothers you that much.

this was actually supposed to be a light gray, not sure why so dark in spots. It was marquis premier "tahiti"
