Hi,

I've made 2 mistakes which led to a cracked inlet will installing a new pool pump at my neighbors pool - I was helping out and cause a damage...
1. Added to much teflon
2. over-tight the PVC hose
I'm not familiar with the right terms of the parts so please bear with me..

I'm wondering if there's a way to fix the issue?
To temporary solve the issue I've added a fitting over the cracked inlet so it will pressure the cracked thread over the threaded PVC of the inlet water hose.

I've searched for a replacement housing but my searches came short as that pump is generic chinese pump (Mustang / spirato / poolline / crystal enterprises)...

While the pump is operating there's no leak but when the pump is idle I can see drops every few seconds...

Hope you guys will be able to help me out and save the day...

Unfortunate, but it happens. :hammer: Of course the ideal fix would be to replace that entire went end, but it appears you've exhausted that route. However, I would encourage you to send an email to InyoPools here in the US. They might have a cross-reference replacement for that wet end. Since it's a crack on the suction side, it makes sense it only leaks when the pump if off. When it's running the crack should be pulling air "in", and you may eventually se more air in the pump pot under the clear lid.

Can you see the crack at all with everything connected? Or is it completely tucked under the union fitting on the pump inlet threads? If it's tucked under the union fitting, the only temporary (attempt) fix I can think of is perhaps rub some silicone caulking on the threads as you tighten the fitting. Then turn on the pump and perhaps the suction will pull some of the caulking into the crack to fill it while it cures.

Thanks!
I found some additional companies with the same pump under different name and also found the entire strainer housing:

but none of the companies will ship out of the U.S and in my country they do not sale spare parts but just a new pool pump.

Most of the crack is tucked under the union fitting as the fitting have 2 threads, inner which the pool hose is threaded to it, and an outside thread which the white union is screwed on to snug the crack.

will a Split Nut with screw will snug it more?

I found a local pool guy which have a broken pump as mine so I will try to salvage the strainer housing.. Do you know if that housing is bonded with glue? or any manual for replacing it?

Silicone or glue will be the last result.. :(

It should not be. It appears to be somewhat similar to the Waterway Supreme and Hayward PowerFlo Matrix models. Take a look at the article below and compare. It might help.
