I'm just now setting up our variable speed pump settings. What is recommended speeds for the preset speed buttons and timer settings (duration and speeds). I know NOTHING!! Thank you!!

Tell us what equipment the pump is feeding.

Best if you create your signature with details of your pool and equipment.
Thank you for responding. We have a 15,000 gallon plaster pool, Hayward salt system that we haven't started using yet because the pool is a new build (Filled on Feb 1st). Hayward sand filter, hayward heater and 3 deck jets (we use occasionally).

Gas heater or Heat Pump?

You need to wait 30 days from fill until you can run your SWG and heater to determine what the minimum RPM each of those devices needs.

Until then around 2400 rpm will do.

Once your SWG and heater are running start at 1500 rpm and increase by 100 RPM at a time and see when the SWG begins running and the heater will run. Then add 200 rpm and that is your minimum pump speed.

Then see what speed and for how long you need for adequate skimming.

After that it is personal preference. Some of us run our pump 24/7 at a low RPM to have the SWG continuously generating. Then a faster speed for a few hours for skimming.
