Hello
We had our pool pump on today and just randomly it stopped working. So we went over to look at it. The switch is floppy. It no longer clicks back and forth. It’s weird because we don’t use the switch itself. The switch is constantly on because we installed a GE remote controller switch next to the pump breaker in the house so can control the pump with a program via our phone.
My husband took apart the switch and it’s fried …burnt out. Has anyone had this problem? We are hoping the pump isn’t fried too. It’s only 2 years old.

Has anyone had this problem?
I had a switch arc in the past, probably due to a bug or small creature that created a bridge and allowed it do do that. That's my guess anyway since it should be dry inside. As long as all appearances it's just the switch, you might be able to order a replacement toggle (or flip) switch. Inspect the wires carefully though. Sometimes the outer sheathing of the wire conductor can break exposing it as well with the same result arc).

Disconnect the power, connect the wires on the switch to each other, restore power. Motor may run. Be sure to insulate the connection before applying power.
