The heater has been running fine for the past 8+ years, it's always covered and in standby mode when not in use.... Uncovered it and found no keypad LED lights lit and the display is blank (no codes or temp)... I found the attached H - troubleshooting guide... Yesterday when I flipped the pool sub-panel breakers back on (turn them off to work on one of the pumps), I heard the heater blower motor come on... Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Well, nope, still Nahhhhhhhhhh...

I removed the front and top panels and thoroughly cleaned all visible dirt and rodent mess... While checking the fuses, when I removed and replaced the automotive-style fuse on the ICB board (page 10/13 attached troubleshooting document), and then replaced it, the blower motor comes on, runs about 20 seconds, and goes off...

I bought a new touch keypad (page 7 attached troubleshooting document) as the least expensive starting point for parts replacement troubleshooting... No change to the keypad display...

Not sure what to try next... Ideas?

You mention rodent mess. Rodents can create all sorts of problems. Just throwing parts at the problem can get expensive and not fix it. You need to go step by step through the heater start sequence and determine where it is failing.

Check your gas pressure at the gas valve with a manometer. Confirm you have proper gas pressures.

The air blower is running. Next step should be power to the igniter. Check the igniter is getting power with a voltmeter. Visually check the condition of the igniter.

Once the igniter powers then you should hear clicks for the gas valve to open. Do you get an initial puff of heat? If the heater lights for a few seconds and then shuts down you could have a flame sense problem.

The Fenwal box coordinates the start sequence with the igniter and gas valve.

The troubleshooting guide you have takes you through the test points. Start working the problem and report back your test results.

Hello all,
I reached the end of the testing and brought in a repair company... He plugged in a new Integrated Control Board (ICB) and the system came online immediately and worked perfectly... Problem resolved... Thank you to everyone who responded with assistance... Greatly appreciated!!!
