Hayward DE4820 Blowing DE plumes -- Need advice

Hello,
I just redid Filter, pump, chlorine tab feeder, some valves, plumbing, etc.

Placed a DE4820 Pro Grid Filter and Hayward SP0715XR50 Multi valve. There were no instructions with the multivalve. I looked all over the Internet and it looked like the pool outlet went to the top right side fitting on the multivalve. Which was like me Pentair setup. I started everything up today and was looking for leaks and saw while charging the DE that I had plumes of DE coming out all returns. So shut down. Nobody at Hayward to call because they are closed.

I would normally suspect torn grids, but this is a new filter and new Valve. I also want to make sure I didn't plumb the Multi Valve Backwards. I don't think I got it backwards because I put it in circulate and water was blowing out the returns.

Can somebody help me with how to proceed?

Here's a video of my setup:

The valve looks correct.

I would have to suspect a problem with the grids or maybe the air relief.

Funny thing about the air relief/Multi Valve I noticed. I put the Valve into recirculate. The returns blew water, so I figured the valve had to be wired correctly.

For some reason(brain Fart), I opened the relief valve while in recirculate position on the valve and some water came out the waste port on the Multivalve, quite a bit actually. It was running out till I shut off the air relief. Can you enlighten me how that could happen? Is it supposed to work like that?

If the filter is full of water, it can come out of the waste when the valve is set to recirculate because the dome part of the diverter connects the inlet of the filter with the waste port.

The standpipe probably broke in shipping.

If the filter was dropped on its side, it would place excessive stress on the standpipe because it would have the entire weight of the grid set.

It’s just 2” PVC pipe.

Cut out the part that is glued in the fitting and then cut the pipe back some, then use a 2” coupling to make the pipe the exact same length as before and glue it in the fitting.

Measure the height of the pipe above the fitting so that the repair gets the exact same height.

I might give that a go if I can cleanly get the remnants out of the fitting, thanx!

You can glue a pipe extender into the existing piece and then use a coupling to connect the standpipe to the extender.

Here is the Factory Piece Standpipe

Here is an aftermarket piece I think: Standpipe

Can I source that elbow do you think? It's kinda unique to me.

I would like to get it running before the "intact" part come in which may be a bit.
