My Hayward aquarite control panel has the check salt and inspect cell lights on. I am getting a 0 instant salinity reading when I move the switch from off to auto. My cell is one 1 year old. Is there anyway I can troubleshoot the components of the board or anyway to tell if my cell is bad?

If those lights are on solid (not blinking) you probably just need to reset the 500 hour counter (reminder to inspect and clean cell). To get rid of those solid lights simply hold down the diagnostic button for about 10 seconds until the lights go off.

You should probably pull the cell off and inspect the plates for calcium buildup. That is what the warning is asking of you. If the plates are clean or after you clean the plates then you can reset the warning. SWG How It Works - Further Reading
I have already cleaned the plates when I first saw the warning. I have done the reset as a first line of troubleshooting. That’s not it. All the basic stuff I have already done

Great 👍🏻
This is the basic information we need to know in diagnosing a problem:

  • Report all diagnostic readings when you..
    • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
    • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
    • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?
