Having trouble with Evajoy pool filter

Set up this sand filter yesterday, I’d never done it before and the instructions were super unclear. Does something look wrong here or is water supposed to be pouring out of the filter ? I don’t know anything about this stuff. There’s not another hose or anywhere to connect another hose on the pool I don’t think but I could be wrong. I know this isn’t very specific but I’d appreciate any advice.IMG_8996.jpeg

Welcome to TFP.

I see you asked the same thing on Reddit.

The water coming out of the pipe is not correct.

The handle on top is in the wrong position for filtering. It is probably set for backwash.

Do you have a link to the filter installation manual?

I now see the numbered valve settings printed on the side.

I think you have the hoses hooked up wrong.

Double check which hose goes to which connection.

Welcome to TFP!

Looks like in from the pump is the port nearest to #1
Out back to the pool is nearest to #6
Port closest to pressure gauge is the backwash port

Look at the arrows just above the ports
For backwash there is a man putting something in a can

You have the pump connected to the waste output...

This OUT arrow should connect to the pool...

Pump should connect to the IN arrow...

The positions of the valve do the following...

If you need any of them explained let us know.

OMG just the instructions I needed, because the directions that come with the pump make no sense.
Hi! I just got the same pump and am wondering how you got the top of the filter container to seal properly and to make the black clamp close around the whole thing?!? I’ve tried multiple times and it leaks majorly from the whole lid! Where does the large o-ring go also? Any help is greatly appreciated!
