In the market for a heat pump in the future, and wondering if there are any Gulfstream HP owners out there? My old pool had a Hayward, and served me well, but it's almost $2k more expensive than the Gulfstream. I'm more concerned with Gulfstream being around for another 10years or so, so I can get parts if needed. I know Hayward will be around for a while. Just looking for opinions from current owners, and anyone else's thoughts?

I would focus on buying from a dealer who is HVAC qualified to service the heat pump.
Many people find that no one is willing to service a heat pump if it involves certain repairs that require an HVAC license or refrigerant license.
Ask who will provide warranty service if necessary.
Most Pool Service People are not HVAC qualified and they can only do minor service repairs like replacing simple parts not involving refrigerant.
They cannot even do advanced diagnostics like tests that involve taking refrigerant pressures etc.
So, pool people are not qualified and HVAC people mostly say that they don't work on "Pool" equipment.

Your talking to the tech, lol. I have ac experience, well enough to troubleshoot and repair. I have heard Gulfstream is very responsive with any parts requests during warranty period. I also will be doing the install.
I think that Gulfstream and Aquacal are good choices for someone who can do their own service work.

Hello guys, Gulfstream 115BTU owner here, I replaced a Aquacal that died in 2022 the Gulfstream price point and electrical requirements were key factors me. All good so far (no operational issues this point and hope I just didn't jinx myself) we have local pool HP repair in the area that service all pool heat pumps and fyi Gulfstream offers service online itself.
That 115 working out well? My pool will be about 17500 gallons, I was leaning towards the 142k btu unit. Nevermind, I see you're in Florida, I'm gonna up size, it gets cold here.

Yes, upsize it. I use it primarily for the attached hot tub, I have used it for my 18,000 gal. pool on special occasions and allowed 1-2 day heat time (depending on temperatures air and pool) a solar cover IMA is a must if you want to use it consistently.
Wow! I emailed Gulfstream earlier about getting service if needed in my area. They emailed me back stating they are responsible for getting a tech to provide service, if a local AC tech would not try and service it. This was an email from Mr Fields. I never expected such a quick response. Thinking I'm sold.

Yes, always used one on my previous pool. Keeps the heat loss at a minimum especially during nighttime.
The nice thing about the time travel feature is that the unit will always be under warranty.
If the warranty expires and then you have a problem, you can always send it back in time to a point where the warranty was still in effect.
Edit - The warranty specifically says that you can't do that. Apparently, they have had people do that and they can check the diagnostic logs to see if the unit is from the future.
