Great Value Bleach vs Freat Value Cleaning Bleach

As long as there are no additives - fabric protection - scents - splashless - etc.

Check the strengths.

You might check the pool section near the garden area. They typically carry 10% LC for a decent price per ounce of chlorine.

The pool section was out of the chlorine. Nothing indicates there is anything different with the green bottle. I’ll add a jug with regular Clorox to see if it causes foaming or anything. Pool needs lots of chlorine for my SLAM.

Yes, you can use either one. I have a mixture of those bottles that I use.

thanks!! Store was full of green bottles but only one blue bottle. Guess the marketing isn’t working!

I have never used cleaning bleach but I could not find anything that looked bad for the pool. The % of active ingredients may be less but thats about it. Just make sure there are no scents added. Its pool season thus the shortage of bleach :)

I’ve now used 6 jugs of the stuff with no issues like foaming or it not raising the chlorine the same/as well as Clorox. I think I figured out that it is meant to compete with Germicidal Bleach like the Home Depot has that and I know from the forum that GB is okay to use. So, I think it’s all good. But glad other pool owners don’t know because there was some left!!

Do we have a facepalm smiley? Isn’t all bleach germicidal? That’s the entire point of the bleach! Lol

LOL ! Seriously! It’s all marketing. Everything about the contents are 100% the same. Just the bottle has a different color and it says things like, “kills mildew” and “germicidal.” But I’ll take it because it means I can find bleach in town! Apparently when you dress the bottle up, people don’t buy it because they just want plain old bleach!

Hows the price compare?

Just for the record, Clorox has cut their nose off to spite their face with the freaky bleaches they're selling now. Not one is appropriate for pool use anymore.

I had Skippy pick up 2 jugs of the Wallyworld 10% liquid chlorine to keep on hand this summer for use in a pinch. From the pool section of the store.

We're both in VA, so our stock might be similar. I've used a bunch of the Cleaning Bleach. I also saw right next to it the Great Value Concentrated Bleach, which I used last year just fine. However, this year like many are reporting, it's hard to find 8.25%. Last year, the Concentrated Bleach was 8.25, but this year it's 6%, which is exactly the same as the Cleaning Bleach, but the Cleaning Bleach is cheaper. Pretty neat tactic, call it concentrated but it's the same strength this year as the 6%

Wal-Mart 'regular' bleach now says something about 'technology' The cleaning bleach does not. It's the same 6% bit only $1.77 It's all I use when I need boost in my old pool. Guess if I say it often enough, folks will hear it. :)

The label...
