I've noted that some folks are using solar to run their pool pumps.
We bought our house a few years ago and inherited an older in ground pool with a slide. The water tubes to the slide have long since deteriorated, and the spa hose was no longer connected into the system, and got removed when we re-landsacped the pool.
I've been looking at using a small submersible solar pump that could be run by a solar panel and small 12 volt battery. There are a few small pumps out there that claim they can raise the water 10-16 feet - plenty to run water up to the slide.
Because of the positioning of the slide, a suction cup mount would work nicely just under the end of the slide, and pretty much stay out of the way. The panel and the battery would sit outside the fence, and the wiring to the pump could easily be caulked into a joint in the cement deck to keep it out of the way.
Anyone tried this before? It seems like it would work well if the components were reliable.
My other thought is a fitting that would divert water from the jet to run the slide spray? The jet is almost directly under the end of the slide.
