I am setting up my 18 X 9 Intex pool on a 12 X 22 concrete slab. I want to put something under it for insulation and to protect from the concrete degrading the liner. I currently plan to put 1/2 inch extruded foam board. (Owens Corning FOAMULAR 1/2 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. R-3 Square Edge Rigid Foam Board Insulation Sheathing-36L - The Home Depot). I will then put the intex liner over the foam board. I see a lot of people talking about putting pavers under the legs of the intex ultra xtra. Because my whole pool is on concrete, I do not plan on putting pavers down. Based on the pavers comments, it makes me think the legs will sink in to the foam board and the pool will end up not being level even though I started with a level concrete pad. Thanks for any advice on setting up on concrete pad. My specific query: should the foam board extend to under the legs?

The concrete patio will support the pool just fine. You do have to be carful about slope though. Most slabs have a slope and it's deceiving, so be sure the overall drop from one side to the other isn't more than one inch. As for the insulation boards, good idea. Lay them out and trim around the feet of the support posts if you like.
