The IQ20 issue with EERO mesh networks is well documented and I had tried almost all of the fixes to varying degrees of success. The problem apparently comes from the mesh network running 5 and 2.4 GHz at the same time and the IQ20 getting confused. The first remedy was to set up a guest network and connect the IQ20 to that. This worked for a few months, however a few weeks ago I started having intermittent drops, but it would eventually reconnect. Still, I am not satisfied with working most of the time so I started researching more.

I ran across someone who mentioned using a 2.4 GHz wireless extender. I bought one off Amazon for $17 that ran only 2.4 GHz and plugged it into an outlet in the laundry room on the other side of the wall from my pool equipment. For some reason I had problems connecting the IQ20 wirelessly to it so I decided to hard wire it. Luckily I had an old cable running through the wall to my garage so I decided to plug the extender in there and use an existing hole to pull the ethernet cable through. I ran it along the wall to the IQ20.

PROBLEM...how do I get the ethernet cable into the housing and still maintain a water tight seal. There is mention in the installation manual of a knockout , but I couldn't find one.

SOLUTION...I decided to store the IQ20 inside my control panel since it didn't need to get wifi reception. I had to turn the breaker off and remove a couple faceplates in the panel, remove the wiring to the panel, and pull the IQ20 cable in. I then fed the ethernet cable through the gland opening and connected everything back.

This solution requires the right setup, which I luckily had, but hopefully this gives someone some idea of how to get around these connection issues. I will include a like to the extender I used and some pics of the install.

Where there is a Will there is a Way. Thanks for the update and workable solution.

I was wondering if you could just run the 4 wire cable from the RED connector along the wall and put the antenna in your garage? I would think it doesn't matter where the antenna is located because as you said, it is hardwired.

Heres mine. Knockout was on the antenna side next to the cover. Its a tight fit for a store bought cat6 cable. I think it would seal up pretty good just off of the tightness of the fit. I relocated mine next to my network switch. It was much easier to pull the 4 wire rs-485 cable to the switch than to worry about running and outdoor rated cat5e or cat6 cable to the equipment pad.
