Hello all. I have searched some and could not find a lot on the following. I have a condo in Costa Rica and am trying to help our HOA with recommendations on a pool vacuum for our community pool. The pool is rectangular, approx. 270' by 90'. They are not looking for an automatic cleaner/vac because they need to employ locals. I have seen a few 120V all in one units (filter and pump) and was wondering if anyone here has experience with those.

Any advise is greatly appreciated, or if you know of another thread that has this discussion.

Most pool service companies use a Hammerhead vacuum. It is DC powered with a battery on the cradle.
They have large nets (both fine and norm) to pick up all types of debris. It requires a long pole handle be mounted to it which allows the manual labor to push it around the pool. You may need 2 or 3 with each guy having its own Hammerhead Vacuum.

You might try something like this below. If the pool gets a lot of dirt/debris, you would probably want to get a couple of extra cartridges as a pool that size could clog one quickly if very dirty. You would also need a hose of about 65' and a commercial vacuum head.

They make even larger vacuum heads than this (about 40"), but this is the idea:

Thanks 1poolman1. The vacuum and the big head looks like it would work great. I agree that a couple of extra cartridges will probably be needed. I am going to pass this along to our HOA president. The following is a picture of the pool.

I use a Hayward spa filter and 500vsp pump strapped to a dolly. Get a long vacuum hose and they won’t have to move it as much. I do cleaning after every install and after concrete. It’s usually a mess and I can make short work with my Frankenstein vac.
