Thinking about buying an Eley hose reel and a couple of 100ft hoses. Have the old craftsman (25 years old) heavy duty hose that work but the Mrs can't manhandle them as they are too heavy. I have the POS hose reels we all go through from the box stores and they are terrible. Eley is very expensive so I am wondering if anyone has them and would vouch for their quality?

Wowsers...$200 for a 100' hose? Seems kinda steep. But, I am sick and tired of my "metal hoses" that leak about 3 months after I buy them...but I love how easy they are to handle/store.

Yeah I bought the expandable ones for my wife and they lasted just over a year and both sprung a leak. Nobody seems to make quality stuff anymore but stumbled my way into Eley and they are American made so figured folks on here know there stuff so wanted to get some firsthand opinions.

Looking them up last time they appeared to be SOLID.

They are expensive, but they are worth the cost. The build quality is excellent. I have two reels mounted to my house and two hoses. They are actually a pleasure to use.

The Eley stuff is quality. The missus wanted something a little less "industrial" looking so I went with a Hoselink. Also pricy, but it looks and feels really nice. We'll see how long it holds up I guess.

Dont know about the hoses, but the reels are super strong. They hold up really well.

However, I am now a convert to the expandable hoses. Its just easier. But they only last about a year, so I buy them when on sale.

I still have my grandfathers hoses from the 70’s when he had his landscaping business. No lie. Zero leaks. I have 2 left. The others just wore out. It’s pretty amazing. I use them both for washing my trucks cause they are so worn in they never ever kink and coil up perfect.

The others I have which are newer are pretty much yearly returns. I bought ones from ace with thier lifetime warranty years ago. I literally return them and they replace them. They are garbage.

But I will say no way I would ever ever pay that much for a hose. Just me. Not getting your money back there. I’ll put that towards rods and reels for fishing. Lol. My true addiction.

I bought the wall mounted hose reel and absolutely love it! as far as the hoses go though I have no idea, at the time I couldn't justify that much $$ for a water hose.....haha

Sucked it up and got the hose and sold my other heavy duty ones on ebay (local pickup and they went in one day) so the damage wasn't too bad all things considered. The hose is fantastic, quality is clearly evident, and the Mrs moved it around with ease. Now I'm gonna get the reel because everything I read says top notch. Thanks for everyone's input.
