Dyco pool deck Paint anyone?

hi All,

I have a salt water pool, surrounded by a Sundek coated concrete deck.
Living in TX, so we get quite a bit of sun.

The Sundek is probable 20 yrs old, and it looks it may need some extra care.

I am considering the Dyco concrete deck paint, specially for swimming pools.

Anyone has had experience with paining on top of Sundek?
What about Dyco by itself?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with either the Dyco brand or Sundek brands, but it looks like Sundek is just a brand of textured acrylic coating, much like I have on my deck. I would avoid using just any paint and look for a supplier of acrylic deck coating systems (locally I use Borders Construction Supply). Find the original Sundek brand if you can, but if not any other will do. Purchase the acrylic color top coat. A five gallon bucket will cover a lot of area. The color top coat is thicker and more durable than any paint and will restore the top surface to like new conditions. Just make sure it's clean and dry when applying. It may cost a bit more than paint, but worth it. Going forward, keeping it sealed by touching up any cracks or chips and re coating the deck every few years can keep it like new indefinitely.
