I am thinking a channel drain for up against building I would like it to all slope towards the left side in pic of the barn. What is the best type drain for this? IS there something that attaches to building or should I just use a channel drain? I will also be installing gutters so it will not be very much water in this area to drain but I do not want it going towards barn. Thank you for any suggenstions.

Good morning. I have a similar situation where my pool sits 15 ft away parallel to my home's foundation. When I asked the builder about a channel drain, he said they easily clog and would ultimately have problems down the line. Since we plan on designing some flower beds around the foundation, he recommended we do a french drain which links to the gutter downspouts with an accessible cleanup fitting. Not sure if this would make sense, but we are still debating since we are scheduled for the second week of May. I'll try to get a photo later and add it here.

This is while the retaining wall was being built last year , but you can see what I was referring to on the left side of the pool.
