I’m wanting to take advantage of some Black Friday deals in either a Premier or Sigma. I currently use an aquanaut that came with our pool. I know it’s probably overkill with my size pool but I’m interested in the premier or sigma for the waterline cleaning. I do live in Arizona though so I’m not sure I could take advantage of leaving the battery outside for the automatic timer features. We also have a 6” water depth Baja shelf in wondering if either of these will clean?

Anyone use either of these and can provide insight? What you like and don’t like about them?

End,

I had the Premier and it lasted about 7 years... It worked great, but is an older style robot.

I now have the newer S200 "style" robots with the top loading basket and like them better. That said, just based on reports here, the newer units tend to not last as long. :(

My latest robot is an EVO, which I like better than the Dolphins, but have only had it for months, so no idea about lifespan.

I'd talk with Marina pool and spa, as they might have lower pricing even with Black Friday. The EVO is in the $850 dollar range.

Tell me how much they want for a new Premier...

Thanks,

Jim R.

How was the 200 on waterline?

End,

So.. the Primer has a handle with floats, the floats cause the robot to tilt at the waterline and then this causes the robot to move sideways along the tile line.

The S200 style robots do not tilt. The have jets of water, from the suction impeller, that forces the robot against the wall, and also forces the robot to move sideways along the title line.

I think my new EVO does a better job at the water line as the brushes are much bigger than either Dolphin.

But.. in the big picture, it is not that significantly different. In all the robots, cleaning the tile line is a little hit and miss. None of these robots "know" where they are.. They just keep wandering around hoping that the catch everything.

Thanks,

Jim R.
