Dolphin Active 30i Testing Power using Multimeter

I have a dolphin active 30i. It was given to us. Drive motor was seized and impeller motor made a grinding. Replaced both with parts from a pool supply place. When powered on, no self test. All lights up fine on power supply. Light on front of the unit also lights up. Syncs with blue tooth ect but dead in terms of response. Nothing happens…crickets! App just gives a message that something went wrong. No kidding

Found a few informative videos on troubleshooting the power supply, however, they are for older models with 2 pins. Mine has 3. Likely not that hard but I find it a little confusing when you measure the dc voltage because one is 22+, another is 6.8 …do I add them. If someone could please offer advice as to how to properly connect the leads from my circuit test multimeter, it would be much appreciated.

Chris,

The 3rd wire is for your wi-fi / blue tooth connections.. I thought it was just an antenna, so surprised it has any power. But I have no clue if the wire should be powered or not.

The other two wires are for ground and the DC power to run the robot. It should be closer to 30 VDC, not 22. :(

I am puzzled that you found replacement motors for the suction and drive side.. No one in the US stocks them, so I find it pretty odd that you found replacements.????

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hi Jim. Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I found parts in Toronto. I am in Canada. I am going to take a picture to show the exact end I am talking about as I fear I have not communicated accurately in terms of the end of the power supply. I’ll do this shortly and if you, or anyone else has advice as to how to proceed, I would appreciate it.

Okay. So after looking through this forum, I found another thread which seems to describe what I found also. It seems that it does read this way after all. I have included a screen shot of that post as well…

I do have to check for continuity as well to rule out breaks. Is there a reset feature on these when you swap out parts? Is the motherboard a possibility. I’m at a loss.
