DIY Install for Heat Pump?

Just bought a heat pump (side note: Asa of poolheatpumps. com was so great to work with!). We had an electrician hook it up, but now need to 'install' the piping. When we built the pool 1.5 years ago, we paid extra to prep for a heat pump knowing we'd get one eventually. I was naive and thought the electrician would hook up the pipes too - my fault for not clarifying.

My husband and my Dad are generally pretty handy people. Think this is something they can handle? Or would it be better to call in a pool person? If it is doable, any links on videos/tips before I go down the Google hole? We are opening the pool on Saturday Pics below along with the heat pump link:

Did it come with the female unions that attach on the new plumbing side ? Those (both male/female) are proprietary and may be tricky to track down. Once you have those, everything else you need is widely available at Home Centers and our plumbing pros can make you a parts list from your design.

It did - they are in a baggie with the manual :D
