I will be installing a 15x24 oval above ground next week. i was curious is I can run a 1.5 hp pump 20 feet away from the pool it will also be below pool level by about 2-3 feet because of the grade o the ground. Is this okay. Straight run with PVC to pool

Welcome to TFP!!!I would not think that will be a problem.
While the PVC is longer that the hoses typically used, the internal resistance may actually be less.
Make sure you add shutoff valves so you can service the pump without water pouring out all over.
