Dispensing liquid chlorine?

I buy my chlorine in 15 L containers and when the container is quite full it often splashes and spills when I'm pouring it into my measuring jug. Can you use a pump like dispenser to dispense the chlorine or will the chlorine damage the dispenser? Any other tips for easy pouring of chlorine apart from buying smaller quantities as this isn't an option?

I hear ya! The splashing and drips are a pain when those 15 litre chlorine jugs are full.

When the 15 litre container is full, i float it on the water and tip it to pour direct into the pool water (and just guesstimate the quantity). I find they pour better around 2/3 full, so I paid the deposit on a second one as well, so I can keep less in each container.

I like to measure my acid, so I buy the 20 litre container from Bunnings, and refill 5 litre jugs that I saved. I use a funnel for transferring the acid to the smaller containers and do it all at once. This would work for chlorine as well (after buying a few 5 litre jugs of chlorine). I'm very careful about labels because you never ever want to mix chlorinating liquid and 32% acid. (or someone else that takes over if I'm not around), so I would never put chlorine in an old acid container or vice versa.

A plastic transfer pump will work. But it could also be a pain avoiding drips when you muck around with the hose(s). Especially any paving or concrete or clothes that you don't want spots on. Maybe it could be kept in some sort of plastic tub. As long as the pump is all plastic, nothing used for pools will hurt it.
