Can I safely dig a ~ 2'x2'x3' deep hole next to my filled inground pool without concern about compromising the pool wall (hydrostatic pressure)? See pictures...pail lid where I would like to dig. My plan is to install laminar jets using the water supply from a leaky waterfall.

Thanks,

Bill

I can’t answer your question, but thank you for posting these pics. I am installing my own pavers and bullnose coping on my new pool and they helped reinforce how I am going to make my cuts in a curved pool...I hope you get your answer

The answer is "Probably"! Gunite should hold up to 3' of pressure easily enough. I wouldn't go deeper just to be safe. The curve of the wall probably helps, too.

I would do it if it were my pool.

BTW, very nice tile work!
