Did I wreck my filters?

We have a dolphin nautilus CC that I baby 99% of the time. Our 10+ year old pump took a dump and the pool has become an algae riddled mess.

That being said, tomorrow we should have a brand new variable speed pump.

I foolishly left the robot in the pool and now it seems to have “algae stains”. Is there any way to remove these particulates? The basket and filters have remained bone white for almost a year, but I dropped the ball on this.IMG_6768.jpeg

A chlorox cleaner type bleach spray will make it good as new.

Or make your own (10:1 ?) and rinse well after.

Bleach based. Scents or whatnot won't matter because you're hosing it down after. And even *if* they went in the pool, it would be the proverbial drop in a 12,500 gallon bucket.

Get a 5 Gallon pail, or a large plastic rubbermaid bin. Make up some 10:1 Water/Bleach solution, give it a good soak overnight, then scrub. Don't get the bleach solution on your clothes...

For the record, it could just run in the pool during slam and clean itself, but I'm assuming you're like me and poolstored and want immediate visual confirmation it's sterile. 😁

I'd let it clean up during the slam and see if it doesn't just clean itself. If still not clean, then I'd clean it.

Yep, I am like you haha. We’ll see!

Fingers crossed, tomorrow is install day. I’ve never had to deal with so much algae at once so I’m weirdly looking forward to the battle

Looks like maybe iron stains.

Try vitamin C on a spot.

If it is algae, try Wet and Forget or maybe hydrogen peroxide solution.

Cheap Algaecide is the same chemical as Wet and Forget and can make a good cleaner for various types of outdoor surfaces.

Wet and Forget and cheap algaecide are both types of Benzalkonium Chloride.

Don't use the algaecide in the pool.

Should I just toss the basket in there? I’m overly protective about the Dolphin and it’s internals 😂
Not sure your question. Don't toss the basket into the pool. Put the basket into the dolphin and use it while you are SLAMMING. The SLAM FC is safe and it may clean up the stains.
