Deep End Ladder Location

Hi All,

I'm in the midst of a rectangle 20x40 rectangle vinyl liner pool build. The dimensions for shallow/slope/deep is 13:14:13. With respect to the location of the ladder, the mason was telling me that it should be placed in the middle of the deep end. However, the way it is positioned now by the PB is about 2 feet further away from the center and closer to the deep end. The mason told me he can move it to be more centered in the deep end, but I dont know what to do? Any recommendations, advantages, disadvantages, etc? Thanks.

I don’t see where the two ladder locations make a big difference.

It is your pool. Put the ladder where you want it.

Little kids jump aiming for the ladder. They either don't want to swim as far once they are tired, or they are trying to get right back out and jump again. Either way, they get sloppy quick and I'd want the ladder in the further away spot. That way by the time they are capable of landing on the ladder, there's less of a chance you have to sit there being the fun police.

Thank you, New Dude, but I don’t understand what you mean. Can you please clarify?

When jumping from the deep end wall, with or without a diving board, smaller kids will jump to the ladder. Of your two choices i would want the ladder further away from the deep end wall.

They will aim for it from the long wall too, but they can jump 20 ft so it doesn't matter.
