Coverstar cover replacement - DIY or Full Service?

I have two Coverstar covers (for a L shaped pool), now 16 years old, and I and need new covers - they have many folds with holes in them. I can buy them from Coverstar dealers. Prices have gone up post covid/inflation.

One option is my local territory (NC) Coverstar service dealer who wants $4500 for the covers, 1600 for labor to install and $350 per cover for shipping which comes to $6800 all in. (Yikes!) But I know this service dealer he does good work including doing all the little things like adjustments and changing out the pulleys that need it.

Another option is a service dealer from a near by state who is offering $3500 all in for original Coverstar covers, ropes and delivery. But I will have to install as this service dealer won't come to my state. That's $3300 less for DIY vs. full service. I've already replaced all the ropes myself once (when I had a broken rope) which is a big part of what needs to be done in a cover install. I'm slow, but pretty capable handing with this sort of thing. I've watched the requisite youtube videos and it doesn't seem too challenging. However, I don't know all the little secrets or gotchas if there are any (or don't know what I don't know - as they say)?

What do you all think? Spend the extra $3300 or DIY and save?

Also, another service dealer swears by APC covers and said I should replace the fabric component of my covers with APC rather than Coverstar - for a price close to the $3500.

Looking for guidance. Thank you in advance.
