Convert hydrogen peroxide to chlorine mid season

I have been using Bleach on my own pool for about 4 years Thank You All
My friend has a Bio UV filter with Hydrogen Peroxide secondary sanitizer.
Due to regulations he can now only buy very weak HP so pool store have sold him a Baqua product to replace it.
I have suggested he goes with Bleach instead.
Can he simply let the HP level drop to zero and then replace with Bleach?
He has an auto dose system.
The HP is due to run out in August - mid season for his guests
Thanks in advance
Peter

Either finish up what he has or just switch over immediately. Liquid chlorine and peroxide neutralize one another until all of the peroxide is consumed by the reaction. You just keep adding liquid chlorine until the level starts to hold. Your friend will need to use cyanuric acid stabilizer with chlorine so they need to see if they can easily get that. Running a chlorine pool with no CYA will be very harsh on delicate skin, hair, and clothing. Also, the neutralization reaction between chlorine and peroxide is acidic so they will need to monitor pH to make sure it stays in the proper range.
