Does't seem like a lot of people talk about heat pumps for cooling their pool. Why is that? I know about the option of evaporative cooler but that drives up PH and there is very little control over an evaporative cooler. With a heat pump I can set water temp to 86F and forget about it...and I don't have to run my pump 24/7 for the heat pump to function. Can run the heat pump for a night to get water temp to preferred temp. What are negatives other than initial capital cost. Seems like a lot of the newer heat pumps are very energy efficient.
