Cleaning cement decking around pool

We live in hot humid central Florida. 2 or 3 times a year the deck gets mildew and needs to be clean. We usually spray straight chlorine on the deck and let the rain clean it off. If necessary we will pressure wash some arears that need a little extra. The problem is if I do this again my wife will divorce me as I keep killing her plants around the pool. Is there any other solution that would work as good that won't kill the vegetation. Pressure washing with water is very time consuming and water is expensive. I appreciate any advice you can provide.

I spray a solution of bleach and TSP on my roof at least once a year to clean the tile (so the HOA stays off my back). I do it on an overcast day and just spray enough so it doesn't drip off of the roof and let the rain (on a future day) rinse it off.

Maybe a weaker solution of bleach will do the trick..... and just spray enough to slightly moisten the deck?

I would go with that.... spray the deck lightly with a dilute bleach solution and let it sit on it. By the time it rains and the water drains in to the flower beds the bleach itself will basically have disappeared.

Harmless to plants. Dilute 5:1 in a garden sprayer and spray the mold and mildew. No scrubbing. If it is mold or mildew then in a few days you will find it changes color and dies. What it does is change the pH of the surface to where the mold and mildew can't survive.

Available at Costco and hardware stores. I use it all around my house. Highly recommended.

Allen is correct. I just used this and it is great. It will kill the green mold in 24 hrs and the black mold in 5-7 days. Make sure you apply on a windless day, stones not too hot in the late evening on a cloudy day w no rain in forecast for 24 hrs. You don't want to apply on hot stones so it will not evaporate or by strong winds...as soon as it fully dries, let the rain do the rest. This stuff is awesome..1 gallon makes 6 gallons....you won't be disappointed and neither will your wife...good luck, tstes

Last spring, we had ducks, which meant duck poop all over the edges of the pool, because they didn't get the hint, when the cover first came off. Got some bleach and a brush, swept up the dry stuff, and that went into the bin. This left small spots on the white surround. Poured bleach on a section of the surround, gave it a scrub, then rinsed into the pool. The tiny amount of organic matter that was left, wouldn't hurt anything, and the pool was not ready for swimming yet, anyway, so even if I added a ppm or two, it wouldn't matter.
