Hi All,

I have some glass tile which has some build up that I am struggling to get off.

I have tried a 1:1 vinegar water mix + elbow grease and a Muriatic acid + water solution. I think it might be helping but nothing has made a dramatic difference. I am going to try a "Calcium Releaser" made by Oceancare, the reviews online seem mixed.

Is the answer to go a sandblast route? Just keep at it? any tips / tricks appreciated.

One additional note, the Muriatic acid does seem to make the tile "fizz" I was pretty conservative trying to use this as I didn't want to accidentally damage the tile. So I only tried this combo a little bit and did not let the solution sit long.

We use BioDex Plaster White&Brite mixed with diluted muriatic on all-things scale. The additive heavily thickens the acid so that it actually clings to the vertical surface allowing the acid to do its job.

Never had a need to use anything else. The stuff is exceptional.

The acid will have little impact on the glass. The scale itself is more damaging, as it can etch the glass over time. The area you want to pay attention to is the grout line. Acid will dissolve that away if you're to aggressive. That's why one good application using the BoiDex PWB is our preferred method.
