I have a 10x30 intex east set pool. Last year I used 1 inch tablets and always kept a couple in at a time. This year I ordered 3 inch tablets by mistake and they won't fit into my dispenser. Can I break them up into smaller pieces to fit?
Go for it, just wear eye protection and have plenty of ventilation. We encourage liquid chlorine here but with a pool that small, use the pucks and have fun. You might end up having to drain and refill, and I assume water in Reno is pretty expensive. I would say get a good test kit, but it would cost more than the pool.
I think all the tablets are Trichlor so to partially respond I would say yes you can break them up. With that said be careful, I know that stuff isn't the nicest thing to handle/work with, in fact just buying a 3in tablet dispenser might be a safer/nicer approach.
On the bigger issue, it would be helpful to post water chemistry tests here. For us to make recommendations on whether Trichlor is a good chlorine source for you or not.

Thank you all for a response. Sorry for this being delayed I forgot I posted lol. The tabs I had ended up being way too much for my pool and brought my chlorine and ph up way off the charts in a small time frame and there were impossible to break up . I ditched those and got what I used last year and everything has since been great.
I have considered liquid chlorine but with this size of a pool I'm not concerned with needing to drain and refill if any crazy problems arose. However next year I plan on upgrading to a 15 foot ultra frame that I plan on leaving up all year so at that point I will most likely switch over, I'm also considering saltwater.
Yeah, that's understandable. But don't forget that the chemistry is the same.
8 years ago I had one and I let it get out of hand because back then I thought of them as toy pools. I've come to know better.
