I recently swapped out a failing T-15 cell on my Hayward Goldline Aqua Plus SWG with a T-3. My pool is 7500 gallons so the T-3 is appropriate. I changed the settings in Configuration to reflect the change. After installing, I’m getting the message in Diagnostic Menu “Chlorinator Off Percentage Met”. Incrementally I increase the percentage but message repeats, even when set to 100%. Also, testing doesn’t indicate chlorine is being produced or enough anyway, unless I run Super Chlorinate for 6 hours, therefore I do know the T-3 is functioning.
Can anyone offer and advise. I shouldn’t have to run in Super mode all the time.

Welcome to TFP.

The chlorinator cycle is 180 minutes. Whatever percentage is set, that's how long the chlorinator will run per cycle.

For example, if the percentage is set to 50%, it will run for 90 minutes and then be off for 90 minutes.

Then, it will reverse polarity and begin a new cycle.

Thanks for the reply ajw22:
Yesterday before I posted, I read this thread that you are referring me to here. Good info. The trouble is, mine is going to “Chlorinator Off Percentage Met” within 30 minutes of turning it on, and this seems to happen regardless of what I have the percentage set to, 40% all the way up to 100%. If I understand your example, wouldn’t it run continuously if set to 100% ?
Could it be a problem with the PCB? I did have a repair made to it ( same time I replaced the T-15 with a T-3) I had a blown joint at the where a relay pins in soldered back up. ( I found that problem solver on this Forum )

Note: Output is scaled back to 20% of desired output setting at 60° F and output stops at 50° F.

With Firmware Revision 1.55 (5/8/2009) the cycle time (reverses polarity) changed from 120 minutes (2 hrs) to 180 minutes (3 hrs).

20% of 120 = 24 minutes.

20% of 180 = 36 minutes.

Hey! I think you may be onto something, I do believe temp was <60 this morning when observing this. I’m gonna monitor this closely next few days. Thanks JamesW
