My elevated spa has been draining back into the pool overnight when the pump is off. Additionally, I believe it's stuck so that no water is flowing over the spillover when the pump is on. I've been able to move the 3-way valves so that it "makes" water flow through and over the spillover, but then no return water is going into the pool/bubblers.

I've read that fixing this issue is a relatively simple DIY project for someone moderately handy. I have two questions:

1. Recommended replacement parts:
I've seen various compatible rebuild kits, but I’m willing to pay more for higher quality if it’s worth it. Based on the attached photo, what replacement parts or kits would you recommend?

2. Process:
Here’s the plan I’m thinking of following to make the repair. Are these steps correct, and do you have any suggestions, tips, or tricks?
  1. Put the pool in service mode
  2. Adjust any of the 3-way Jandy valves (Do I need to do this?)
  3. Remove the clear check valve cover
  4. Replace the flapper (ensuring it’s installed in the correct direction)
  5. Reinstall the clear cover
  6. Take the pool out of service mode
Thanks in advance for your help!

You have a Pentair check valve. Get Pentair parts for it - Pentair 263042Z CPVC 2 Inch 2 Way Pool Spa Check Valve Diverter Replacement Kit

Turn off your pump. If you do not see any water in the pipe, then you can remove the 8 screws using a screwdriver, remove the cover and flapper, inspect the inside of the housing that the seal is clean and smooth, install the new cover and flap, tighten the screws with a screwdriver.

Do not over-tighten the screws or use a power screwdriver as you can crack the screw threads.
