I need to pull my light bulb to inspect it and determine if the bulb is bad or something else is going on. I know from many of th threads that there should be a set screw at the top of the ring/niche to remove to pull the fixture from the niche. However I have thoroughly checked and can not find a set screw. I have posted pictures. The fixture seems to be secured at the top but moves back and forth at the bottom of the niche.

Looks like Purex CHD. follow this link. i believe that you should be able to pop the face ring off, or maybe twist.

there is one on ebay right now with good pics. I believe if you lift up and pull out bottom it should release from niche. look closely at 5th ebay side profile pic and you will understand what i am writing of.

Purex lights without a screw used a catch similar to one you would find on a cabinet. There is/should be a spring clip on the fixture that just grabs the niche.

Thanks for this info Darin. I will look at this and see if I can get it out of the niche.

Do you think I can leave it on the deck when I get it out until I get any parts/bulbs I need?

Also, do you think I can replace with an LED bulb?

Thanks!

I just ordered two LED bulbs from Inyo Pools, one was $75 and the spa bulb was $45. They chang color depending on how you cycle the switch. I’ll update when they arrive and I get them installed.

Yes, you can leave everything on the pool deck for as long as you need to gather all the parts and tools. Mine were there for two days sitting on a folded towel.
