Hi guys

a little background

middle of summer I was quite unhappy with the way my pool looked clear-wise

daytime it looked “fine” but at night, the foggy halo around the pool light was telling me the pool was not clear enough.

I really did not want to put more hours of filtering because of electricity costs so I started searching for a sollution. It came in the way of FIBER CLEAR.

I bought a 9oz pack on Amazon and added a cup to the skimmer.
Almost immediately the pressure went up. About 9 psi in 24 hrs.
I backwashed and added another cup.
Pressur was now steady about 2 psi above normal.

Well, since then, My pool is crystal clear, shiny, polished look.

Just wanted to share, I‘m VERY happy with cellulose fiber as a filtering aid.

no change in pool chemistry and I’ve noticed less maintenance regarding vaccuming.

I highly reccomend it.

Diatomaceous Earth (DE, pool grade only) does the same thing and TFP recommends using that in sand filters for fine polishing of the water. Cellulose fiber can be used as well, but it tends to be “gummier” than DE and does not backwash out as cleanly as DE does.

Glad you found a simple solution to your problem.
