Can use Trichlor and Liquid Chlorine?

Not a new pool owner but new to managing my pool. I am so grateful that I found this site. I have been doing a lot of reading and learning. Unfortunately, I was operating under the old mindset before I found this site. I purchased a 10# bucket of chlorine tablets. I was wondering if I could use both the chlorine tablets and liquid chlorine (at least until I use up all of the tablets). If the LC and tablets can be used interchangeably, when should I use the tablets? I have the waterguru sense 2, and have taken water samples to Leslie's pool to test the levels. I have ordered the K-2006 so I can test my own water. Below are my current levels from waterguru (WF) and Leslie's pool (LP).

WG (LP)
FC 3.6 (2.96)
TC - (3.23)
pH 7.5 (7.7)
TA 200 (121)
CYA 71 (70)
CH 219 (168)
Phos - (856)
Thanks for the assistance!

Welcome! Yes, both can be used, just not combined in the same container. So if you have tabs in a feeder or floater and wish to add liquid chlorine to the water near the return jets that's fine.

As Pat mentioned you can with precautions but If those cya numbers are correct you should stick with liquid chlorine now & increase your fc to target 🎯 range ASAP.
Save the tabs for if you’re on vacation or for next year or whatever when you need a little cya bump here & there.
If stored in a dry place they will last pretty much indefinitely. As you can see from this chart - as your cya rises so does your necessary fc level.
The only way to remove cya is to replace water.

Thank you both!
So @Mdragger88 I should start adding the LC ASAP to increase the FC levels in the pool. Ok, I will do that. How do I determine the amount of LC to add? I think I used the PoolMath correctly-if I use 1.5 gal of 10% LC it will raise the FC level by 6.2 and that should put the FC to the target range based on the above table. Is that correct?

Again thank you for taking the time to help me work through this.

Yes 👍🏻

You will need to feed the pool enough liquid chlorine to keep fc ABOVE minimum before your next dose.
Testing fc & adding each day will help you figure out your normal fc losses.
Here in the south in the peak of summer average daily loss can be up to 5ppm depending upon conditions so plan accordingly.
It is safe to swim with fc anywhere between minimum & slam level for your cya so overshooting target a bit is fine. More fc isn’t a problem but too little is.
