calcium scale in lines

I just bought a house that has a hot tub that needed repair. The owner said it sat for 2 years due to a bad pump. The tub was empty the last few months. I replaced the pump, heater, and controller yesterday. I believe there is a lot of calcium buildup. I filled it and ran the startup procedures for the new spa pack and its all operational! What should I do about this calcium? I wiped down all the surfaces on the shell, which is pretty darn clean now, but I see all this scale in the lines and of course in the water itself. I did a chlorine shock in it yesterday since that was the only chemical I have on-hand and I figured it wouldn't hurt.

The internet is filled with lots of different ways to get rid of this calcium scale: from using a ton of vinegar, to dumping a few pounds of PH Down, to tossing in some Ahh-some.... what is the best approach for this?

Is this something I should be concerned about? I imagine most people don't even know to look at their lines and just test the water itself.

Thanks in advance!

Absolutely you want to go for the Ahh-some to clear out the lines of biofilm and other icky previous owner/left empty to grow kinda stuff. Empty and refill. Then super chlorinate and drain again. Refill and enjoy!
