This is a break out of my other thread where I ask a similar question (I am hoping this will be more specific / increase visibility) :
Hot Tubs... Bullfrog vs Caldera (with salt system)

For Bullfrog owners who have added salt water generators, did you do this while under warranty? Are you concerned warranty is now void? Is there a trick here?
and.. what specifc SWG did you decide to go with...

Thanks!

I don't think your breakout is finding any new people who missed your original thread.

Starting new threads rarely works. It is the same folks reading all of them.

Update your title as need be. The more specific your question, the longer it generally will be until someone who knows sees it. In this case, you need someone who specifically bought a certain hot tub, and used salt. If our regulars had, they'd be here in minutes.

It's never that we don't want to help you, it's that you are too deep down the rabbit hole for the average member/expert to help you quickly. :)

oh man "too deep down the rabbit hole" describes me too well... you got that from just my post? :)

I mean in this case I don't want to know how other manufacturers deal with warranty (or how people ummm navigate it) I only want to know about Bullfrog and owners opinion/thoughts/"workarounds".. and its having salt systems that I need to know.. so I (being a "too deep down the rabbit hole" person) doesn't really know how to zoom out on that.

🤷‍♂️

Standalone spa ownership is only a fraction of our active members. Half of those stayed with chlorine. The rest are busy today.

Lets ask @RDspaguy for his thoughts as a repair person. He checks in every couple of days.

Hang tight. :)

Wow thanks! :) yeah I wasn't expecting much but I prefer to hear from the small fraction of owners hear than posting a question "out there" where trolls/spammers and people with other motives reside...
As I was typing a reply to Hot Tubs... Bullfrog vs Caldera (with salt system) I pondered the salt and typed out that I probably won't bother with it considering a conversation I had with Jim @ Ahh-Some that Chlorine requirements are much less with his Aqua Clarity product.. but I am very much here to listen and learn so any input always gratefully received.
Mention was also made (in that link I put up there) about Ozone/circulation and RD SpaGuy was mentioned there too.. :)

Ah I just need to post one big question... I think someone mentioned that already ;) :) --- if I am not careful I will end up with processes, procedures, and or bulleted lists + more.. so just trying to restrain myself here ...

I am one of the few here that likes additional purifiers beyond chlorine or bromine, the issue is that the CDC does not recognize most of these and their regulations and recommendations do not change just because you add something else. With or without, you still need chlorine/bromine. As a group, TFP follows CDC recommendations. Hence most of these products are seen as useless here. Not so, but I can see how one might reach that conclusion.
@Ahhsomeguy is very helpful and knowledgeable in the industry and his products have impressed me, and I put them to the test myself. But I am not aware of the CDCs stance on aqua-clarity reducing recommended chlorine levels. I'd bet @Ahhsomeguy knows though.
I personally am not a fan of salt systems even in pools, and especially in spas. But as a repair man I only see the problems. People never call to tell me everything is working fine, so I might be biased.😉

So helpful thank you! Do you have a thread somewhere on your thoughts re:additional purifiers/your experience?
I understand I have to use chlorine but I have Asthma so just trying to limit it.
(I purify tap water and have shower filters so…)
