Hi all, we are at the phase of plastering/pebbling this week for our gunite/shotcrete in-ground pool. The builder has a subcontractor that will be doing this. When I told the builder we like to go with Hydrazzo, the plastering subcontractor saying he would advise against using Hydrazzo due to him saying quite a few microcracks in most of the Hydrazzo finishes he has done. I am in Phoenix, AZ, so I figure the excessive 100+ deg F dry heat would be a huge factor affecting the subcontractor recommendation.
Thanks.
- I just want to get some opinions from this group to see if you have Hydrazzo finish for the pool, if so, is microcracks developing a common problem.
- If not Hydrazzo, what are some recommended alternatives? I want to go away from the rough pebble or mini-pebble finishes, as I really like the smooth finish but yet supposedly durable finish like Hydrazzo. Not sure if the alternative would be NPT's PolishedScapes or QuartzScapes?
Thanks.
