Braided pvc hose for filter?

Considering using some pvc braided hose as a temporary upgrade to the cheap flex hose that comes with new pools. Has anyone used it between the skimmer and pump and/or sand filter and return? Its already used between the pump and sand filter in my set up.

I plan to do flex PVC pipe with cut off valves eventually but I want to at least upgrade the skimmer to pump connection now, the hose is too long and it keeps getting air in it and losing prime.

I haven't ever used it so I am not sure how it works on suction side of things. Why not just use the flex hose you are planning to upgrade to? You can cut in the valves later.

If your current hose is sucking air, you probably have a leak, try to find that and solve it (tighten/slightly loosen something or use/remove teflon tape etc)
