Blue Torrent Heat Pump and Intex Pump

Hi there.
I live on Long Island, NY. I have an round Intex 5,000 gallon Easy Set with an Intex 633T pump. I bought a Blue Torrent 32,000 BTU heat pump from Island Recreational. It's meant for a 5,000 gallon pool. I hooked it up and figured out the piping to make heat pump and the Intex pump connect with each other. When I finally turned on the heat pump, I get an "E3" message on the panel after about 30 seconds of turning it on, which is a ''water flow fault." My best guess is the Intex is not powerful enough. The specs on the heat pump says "Water Flow Volume: 14 - 24 GPM." The Intex pump says it can do 2,500 GPH which translates to 41 GPM. So I'm not really sure if the heat pump numbers translate directly. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it!

Welcome to TFP.

The Intex pump spec of 2,500 GPH which translates to 41 GPM is into a big pipe with no restrictions. A heat pump has a small pipe heat exchanger that severely restricts the pump flow.

You need a more capable pump.

Thank you Allen for your reply.
I actually did get the heat pump going by releasing an air pocket inside the heat pump via air release valve. The heat pump worked fine for a couple of days and now it stops with a" E2" message meaning "Lowest Pressure Fault.' I'm thinking this means low or no refrigerant because the heat pump initially runs for a few minutes with the compressor kicking in after 20 seconds, but I do not feel warm water on the outlet. The heat pump stops with the E2 message after about 5 minutes.
