Black pebble finish?

How is everyone liking their dark gray or black pebble finish? My builder has made a switch from "river rock" to "stonescapes" brand pebble finish.

They have a mini pebble that is not too rough and I'm liking the black color but I'm a little scared of it being too dark or that I won't see the bottom. Can you please offer some comments if you're happy with your black finish?

Here is stonescapes mini pebble black

Not being able to see the bottom of a black pool is a myth. We have black Pebblesheen and it is great. Lots of pics in my pool thread, link in sig. You can see the bottom in all of them. :)

Yes, I definitely like your color. I hope mine turns out like yours. I know you mentioned how yours faded to gray, but I'm ok with that. I guess your water color appeared a little darker when it was new compared to now??

Maybe a bit darker and more reflective at times earlier. the water color is different all the time depending on clouds, sun, treas, and I don't know what all else. We like it a lot. It looks like the pics a above quite a bit.

The tile that matches the black pebble is this dark grey tile. Should I be matching the tile to the pebble? Or should I match to what color the water will end up being which is a dark green/blue?

Yes, it definitely fades, but nothing to do with bleach. The UV fades blue and black pigments in plaster. Mine is much more faded on horizontal surfaces than it is on vertical surfaces, especially north facing vertical surfaces.

So, I can do either black mini pebble which would come out just like your color. Would you say yours is mostly a green color in the sun?? Most of the pictures look green but then some are a little blue.

my other option is the black mini pebble with light and medium blue glass beads which would probably add some more blue to the water color. Here are the colors below. If you could add the glass for a little blue tint, would you?

A lot of that green is reflection from the trees. We have tons of trees, 50-60 feet tall hanging over the pool. If you're looking for a little more blue then addjng the blue glass sounds good.
