I have a uniquely shaped pool surrounded by trees and shrubs. For several years, I've been wrestling with a weighted-down tarp to cover it during the winter. I'm fed up with that because removing wet leaves from it is a back breaking job. I would estimate that while the pool is closed, I dip out around 400 gallons of wet leaves.
I want to get a custom cover from which I can sweep the leaves off as they fall. I don't know whether to get a mesh or solid cover. There is a farm behind my fence and when I remove leaves from my tarp, there's a lot of dirt. Will that dirt go through a mesh cover?
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I have had both mesh and solid covers. Fine dirt will get through a mesh cover. I was easy to vacuum up when opening the pool in the spring. I can use my lawn blower to blow all the leaves off the cover. A solid cover will keep the pool cleaner but it will fill with water during a rain and the cover pump removes most but not all the water on the cover. You end up with a pile of wet leaves around the pump. Mesh cover is easier to put on and take off. Other than crystal clean water in the spring when the solid cover is removed, I prefer the mesh cover.
