Hello,
We are getting a new pool installed; 16'-18' x 35 ft, 6 ft deep gunite. We have never owned a pool before, so we only know what we find online or what people tell us.
A pressure vacuum was recommended by one PB, but then it was shot down by many, many others. So we are not going that route.
The PB we selected offered us the Hayward Sharkvac for $800; it is on the contract we signed but after our recent research I think we need to ask them to remove that from our contract because it does not seem like a good option based on our needs for the trees on our property.

We have an average sized lot for our area, by our area's standards, at .23 acres. We have a few oak trees on our property, and our neighbors on one side have a bunch, too.
We have a giant laurel oak that isn't going anywhere, that has a canopy overhanging nearly to the middle of our yard, which will also be nearly the middle of the pool. We also have what we think may be two smaller live oaks in the rear corner, one would overhang our new pool and we are thinking of removing that one. Another laurel oak (we think), hangs high, but a little overhang over the pool as well, and is nearby to where the shallow end would be.

We are looking for a good robot vac to get a lot of the debris; but based on my research I think I will definitely need a combo of the vac and a leaf rake for the acorns.
However, I am looking for suggestions on current robot vac models that can do a good job with the leaves and, especially, the acorns, as we have discovered they can cause staining to plaster.

I did do a lot of searching of other posts and have some ideas, but I am not sure what are current models now, as some of the posts are older. I saw one that seemed to have a leaf bag attachment, but I cannot seem to find it online (Dolphin S200 or S300)? I think the oversized leaf bag option would be great for our circumstances of oaks with leaves and acorns, but I cannot seem to locate the models that actually have this feature listed.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

We have big oaks and this spring cleaning was a breeze with the aquabot rover jr. we now have a caterpillar infestation and it’s scooping a lot of poop I’d otherwise be scooping.

For the real fall season also consider a leaf gulper - cheap tool to get up tons of leaves. Lifesaver for us.
