Hi everyone,

I am going to be opening my pool in the next month or so (I think) for the first time. Does anyone have any good cleaning steps when opening a pool? I have never done this before but I am guessing it will be dirty and I will need to do some deep cleaning. Anyone have a good guide or steps to clean (or even open) the pool correctly? Thanks!!!!

I have my pool company come in with their standalone cleaning rig to clean my pool on Spring opening. Well worth the $60/half hour they charge for cleaning. They get it spotless to start the season.

opening is generally just the reverse of the closing process 👇
If you closed properly the pool shouldn’t be too dirty. I generally throw my robot in , maybe brush a bit & adjust everything to Recommended Levels. Sometimes taking fc to slam level to be on the safe side FC/CYA Levels.
Closing late & opening early while water temps are in the low 60’s or below generally leaves me with a clean pool & some fc still present at opening. I have a solid cover.

Not too clean with a mesh cover. Leaves get under there and stuff for me. Water is not too bad but have to keep chlorine up since degrading leaves eat it up.
