Bead liner not fitting into bead receiver

We bought a house last year that had an above ground pool, so we are rather new to this pool thing. We drained the pool and when we started to fill it up the liner ripped. We ordered a new beadee liner and it doesn't fit in the bead receiver. Are we missing something? Are their different sizes of bead liners/recievers? We have watched videos and it seems like it should just go right in, but that's not the case for us. What are we missing?

Thank,
Whitney

Welcome to TFP!

Please read through Pool School and order a recommended test kit so that you can scientifically maintain super clear water at a fraction of pool store chemical costs.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you learned the hard lesson that a pool with a liner should never be completely drained, as a used liner will shrink as it dries..which can result in a tear when refilling. With your new liner, you will always want to keep at least 1 foot of water, until you want to replace the liner, again.

Without pictures, I would guess you have a "unibead" liner which can either be used as a J brad liner (attached to the top of the pool wall) or as a traditional beaded liner (like you are trying to use..) but the j bread portion of a unibead may have to be removed:
