Balboa 120 vs 240

I'm confused about the voltage on my rescued balboa spa.

I've been watching some troubleshooting videos (
)

My board looks like its a 240 volt system. However it clearly has a 120 v transformer. So what gives?

It has lugs on both sides of the terminal block for 240 wiring (bl, red, white, gnd) and they are all terminated on the board fins/tabs. The wiring diagram shows the heater as 240v but the transformer voltage is not labeled on the diagram. Why would it have a 120v transformer?

This is a balboa C2000 system
board 21000 cal spa supdup
chip 2100rc1c - 050224

Can you show the transformer label?

Some transformers can take 120 or 240 depending on how they are wired.

You might also have 120 and 240 mixed coming into the system.

I don't think I understood your question fully until I listened to the video.

While I suspect the advice is too quick to jump to the conclusions that led to the recommendation to change the main board, I'd have to say there isn't enough information to be sure you have an incorrect transformer. It could be an aftermarket replacement. What's important is if the output is what it's supposed to be, and that could also be influenced by proper loading - again, not enough information...

Maybe @RDspaguy is familiar with your circuitry, but I'm betting he's going to want to see a pic or two.
