image.jpgimage.jpgLowering Pool Level After Storm

Hey all, so we had a couple nights of bad storms this week and I opened up the pool cover to quite a mess and nearly topped off pool.

Question is, do I use backwash to lower it or waste?

I’ve never used the waste setting before so want to make sure I don’t do something stupid before checking in with the community. I don’t have a vacuum or anything like that.

I’ve tried googling around but everything regarding “waste” mentions vacuums and/or ports.

Thanks for any help!

You can do either. Backwash will clean the filter while lowering the pool. Waste just bypasses the filter and pumps the water to the same outlet hose where backwash water goes...

I'd use the opportunity to "backwash" the filter, then, as you should, "rinse." When you are done, just run in on waste to lower it the rest of the way.

Good luck!

Thanks, I’ll do just that!

My pump has a hard time holding a prime when I’m during it on and off so it’s gonna be a long night I’m afraid.
