What is the proper backflow preventer for the autofill line? I’ve seen these commonly installed in the attached photo but is it the correct ones? Is this an Orbit?
Should it be a reduced principle back flow preventer?

I cant tell from your pic exactly which type that is,.... there are several designs and they all perform their function just fine as long as they are installed correctly.

To google different ones up, use the term Pressure Vacuum Breaker.

Just looked it up so this is an anti-siphon valve made by Orbit replaced with a handwheel.
I believe city codes specify RP pressure vacuum breaker backflow preventer which is the correct one. Per CPC603.5.20

I choose "door #1" :p I use the Zurn Wilkins 720 on both my pool auto refill line and on my irrigation manifold.
Good job on the research :goodjob:
