Hi, anyone has any update on how to autostart the pump and the SWG after power failure?
When in FP mode the sand filter auto starts after the power is back on. so for this i can connect an external timer.
but how do i get the SWG to switch on automatically?

M,

I am sure it matters what specific equipment you have, but over here, most systems are wired so that the salt cell runs whenever the pump is running.

Tell us more about what equipment you have.

Any external timer would have to have a battery backup mode so it would continue to keep time when the power was off.

Thanks,

Jim R.

M,

To be honest I know very little about the Intex saltwater systems. Seems to me that I read that to get an Intex SWCG to power up after a power failure, you have to actually push a button. I am not sure that is true or not, but something that you could simulate pretty easily.

Let's see if one of our Intex owners can chime in on this one.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Ct-Steven, Thanks for posting the video on the intex sand pump! I’m going to do this.

My husband did the low salt bypass mod on the intex salt generator which takes it off the digital built in timer. You’ll need a separate timer to run it. The only thing is, if you do this mod the digital controls don’t work and you won’t get error codes anymore. In our case we had a faulty low salt code we couldn’t clear and it’s off warranty anyway. Here is the directions he followed:

I am in Thailand and recently had same issue with Intex system but have thankfully found my own simple work around which I will share.

I discovered that when switching unit on at mains, if I held the power button down the unit would turn on and stay on no matter how long I held the button. Therefore I decided to work out a way to keep the power button held down and then control the operation via an in-line wifi power adaptor which I can control/schedule from an app on my phone (I have also added water pump/ sand filter to same socket/power supply so both come on and go off at same time).

Instructions

1. Unplug SWG and unscrew base fixings to open cover up.
2. Unscrew the control panel from the underside
3. Apply pressure to the power button and wrap sticky tape over top of it and around the circuit board (4 times minimum) ensuring enough pressure and strength to keep the button held down.
4. Reassemble the unit.

Simple but effective, hope this works for you.

I have basically replaced all entire Intex filtration system with industry standards. Just got tired of having to jury rig the stuff just to make it work. For our SWG I went with a CircuPool EDGE-15
